Share some test standards or methods for the anti-drop performance of PET bottles

Test method: The PET bottle is filled with a certain amount (usually rated capacity) of liquid or filled with a filler of the same weight as the liquid (such as sand), and free falls from the specified height to the specified surface. For example, from a height of 1 or 1.2 meters let the bottle fall freely onto the concrete floor or steel platform. The selection of the height is determined according to the possible height of the actual use of the bottle, such as the bottle may fall from the shelf during the handling of the warehouse, and this height is generally close to the height range of the worker's arm naturally lifting and lowering the item.

Test method: The PET bottle is placed on a track with a certain tilt Angle (such as 30 degree -45 degree ), and the bottle will roll down the track. The length and material of the track can be designed according to the actual need to simulate the transport or storage environment, for example, the track length can be set to 3-5 meters, and the material can be wood or metal. Bottles can be filled with liquid, partially filled with liquid, or filled with solids of appropriate weight. The bottle will continuously collide with the track wall and the ground as it rolls over.

Test method: Using the impact testing machine, the PET bottle is fixed on the test bench, and an impact hammer with a certain weight (such as {{0}} kg) is used to impact the specific part of the bottle from a certain height (set according to the actual test requirements, such as 0.5-1 meters) at a certain speed (which can be adjusted by controlling the falling height and Angle of the impact hammer). Such as the side, bottom or neck of a bottle. This test can simulate a bottle being hit by another object in transit or accidentally hit on a shelf.

Test method: First, the PET bottle is placed in a low-temperature environment box, and the temperature is adjusted to the specified low temperature value, such as -10 degree , -20 degree , etc., and maintained for a certain time (usually 2-4 hours), so that the temperature inside and outside the bottle fully reaches the set low temperature. Then follow the free fall test, impact test or tumbling test methods described above. For example, from a height of 0.8 meters, let the bottle free fall to the ground at a low temperature.
Evaluation criteria: Similar to the test evaluation criteria at normal temperature, but because the bottle is more likely to be damaged at low temperatures, the record of the degree of damage to the bottle should be more detailed, including whether there is a brittle rupture (the whole bottle is broken into several pieces), the length and number of micro-cracks. If the bottle can still maintain good integrity at low temperatures, it indicates that it has good anti-drop performance at low temperatures.
